About me

Welcome on my website.

My name is Daniela Risser and I am originally from Germany. I live and work both, in Tuscany and Rome.

I am a graduated Physiotherapist, Rolfer, Gyrotonic Trainer and Sound Therapist.

For over thirty years I have been researching and studying traditional and holistic body therapies. The further I go into it, the more I am fascinated about how body, mind and emotions are intimately connected and influence each other.
My personal research became the leitmotif of my profession.

Over the years I have acquired very effective techniques in the fields of manual therapy and functional physical activity. Through the richness and synergy of these techniques, I try to accompany each person, in their uniqueness, towards their own psychophysical well-being.

In my long term experience it has been so far amazing to witness, how we can transform our bodies , our movement habits and our posture, no matter how old we are or how much our conditions seem irreparably altered. We can always improve!

The people who come to my studio are of all ages and have the most varied needs: finding greater comfort in their body, aligning their posture, releasing muscle tensions, relieving pain, finding more flexibility, recovering from physical trauma, restoring physical shape, decompressing from stress, managing movement disorders, finding greater movement security and improving one's body potential. These are some of the many goals we can achieve together.

In my therapeutical approach, the human aspects are just as important as the techniques that I apply.

I graduated as a physiotherapist at the Enrico Fermi Institute in Perugia (Italy) and I am licenced by TSRM (the national register of health andrehabilitation professions).

I completed the three-year training of Rolfing ® - Structural Integration and graduated at the European Rolfing Association (ERA) in Germany.
I am a member of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute of Structural Integration (DIRI) and the European Association of Rolfing Practitioners (ERA).

I am a certified Trainer of the Gyrotonic Expansion System ® and graduated in Germany at the Gyrotonic Headquarter Europe.

I completed the three-year Shiatsu Shintai © training at the International Shiatsu School (ISS) in Switzerland and Traditional Thai Massage at the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I studied the basic techniques of Craniosacral Therapy at the Upledger Italia Institute in Trieste and the basic techniques of Visceral Manipulation of the Barral method, in Italy.

I participated at the Ideomotor Training and Beamish Body Mind Balancing at the Keiron Study Center.

I graduated as a sound therapist and instructor of Tao Yin Fa, a form of Chi Kung, at the Tamado Academy in Boulder in the USA.

I am a certified Nordic Walking instructor, trained at the Nordic Walking Association Italy (ANWI).

To continuously improve and keep my skills up to date, I regularly attend professional in depth courses. For this reason I travel across Europe, America and Asia in search of the best internationally renowned teachers, including Robert Schleip, Peter Schwind, Rita Geirola, Sharon Wheeler, Jim Asher, Pietro Gagliardi, Saul Goodman, Fabien Maman and several others.

Since 1996 I have been collaborating with the most highly quoted Spas in Europe, including La Rèserve - Abruzzo, Fonteverde Tuscan Resort & Spa - Tuscany, Schloss Elmau - Germany, Castiglion del Bosco – Tuscany and with selected personal training studios in various cities of Italy.

As a Spa Concept Designer I co-created the "Ancient Mediterranean" concept and contributed to the stress management program "Equilibrium" at the renowned Fonteverde Tuscan Resort & Spa.

Since 2006 I have my own private studio in the north of Rome, in the well-known Parioli district. I’m there on a regular base every week from tuesdays to thursdays.
